Linguistic structure is not what I was referring to. I was referring to language structure. Differing languages are structured differently to accomplish the same linguistic function. A Russian says "What I can do about this?" while an American says, "What can I do about this?" You can see the slight difference here. Some of the differences are much more significant. So it is better to let a child get a complete grasp of language functions using one language, then while learning the second language he can easily make adjustments as he sees how the difference accomplishes the same function. There are exceptions with some children who are gifted at language.>>
