I think that a lot of the people who are pushing loudly in public for higher document standards at the state level are speaking out of both sides of their mouth on this issue. Someone comes along with a perfectly reasonable way to issue certified identity photo-bearing documents like this, documents that would work to solve 90% of the registration questions in all the states... and these same folks who were calling for "more and better identity documents" flip-flop and start screaming bloody murder about totalitarian 'national identity papers'. TOO FUNNY!
