First of all I don't disdain Ukrainians I disdain ultranationalists. I grew up in city where all spoke Russian, and still speak Russian as their native language. I don't know who is Ukrainian, but would assume those are whose parents language is Ukrainian. I dont think that I missed your point since Hutsuls want their own country and it is not Kiev. Regarding Russian economy I am poor judge since I do not live there. Russian mind of today is so different from mine and value system is so different that there is no logical way for me to predict their state of mind, the only thing I can hear that current pressure on them will work against more plural and democratic society which is probably opposite of western goals.
