>> How happy are you that you have insurance?

The reason you should not be happy won't be as apparent as you suggest.

Health insurance companies negotiate with providers for lower rates. As a result of having the insurance, even though it is applied to deductible, your out of pocket cost will be dramatically reduced. So, for the insured, that is a good thing because it vastly reduces the insureds expense, even though he is actually having to pay it out of pocket.

The REAL reason the insured should not be happy is a laundry list of other stuff -- the best providers and the ones he wants to use probably aren't covered at all; if they ARE covered, because they're not being paid as much, they may not be around -- at least with your plan, for very long. And they won't be able to invest in capital goods like modern imaging and lab equipment as readily because it takes too long to recover cost. As you transition to Medicare, you may find your provider is totally disinterested because he loses money every time you show up.

And there is the fact that the subsidies on Obamacare are going to drive deficits up meaning your kids are ending up having to pay for your health care -- not just when you're on Medicare like it was, but now even when you're in the 40s or 50s.

There are tons of reasons to hate Obamacare.
