If you'll notice all of these analysts that are cuting estimates are all maintaining their buy rating. Meaning it is a great oppurtunity to buy cheap stock. I hope by July August of '98 to be sitting pretty even though now I'm taking a bath. I'm also waiting to average down more it's just I feel there can still be more Asian news. Not that anyother analysts is going to tell u psomethingthat we don't know already. Start planning vacations for the holidays next year, you'll all be going compliments of ASIA, analysts and most of all AMAT!!!an opinion..

>>With earnings estimates in $2 range, we can hope it will NOT go down any more.<<

It's amazing how future uncertainties can affect stock prices. Earlier this year, this thread was saying that when the consensus FY 98 estimate reaches $4.00 (or $2 post-split), it would support a stock price of $100 ($50 post-split.) Now that the company itself gave guidance of more than $2 post-split, we're only hoping that the stock can stay above $25.

I added 10 LPJAD (Jan 2000 Call 20) @ 13 7/8. Expect to buy more if AMAT drops to the low 20's.
