Always appreciate your post. I think best measure of buy or sell is volume size on bid side and ask side. ASND has turned the corner on up side.

Further on block trades:

MR, I think maybe I'm wrong and you are right, at least on the buy side (I'm not sure on the sell side).

Assume that an institution can somehow avoid the spread (because it has sufficient market power). If the bid/ask were 27 1/2 to 27 5/8, and an insitution had 50,000 shares to buy, it would pay 27 1/2 (if it could avoid the spread). I can see this.

How about a sale? If that same institution wanted to sell 50,000 shares, would it be able to convice a MM to pay the same price that that MM is selling the shares? Perhaps.

So, then, how does one read block trades?
