Is it the jailbroken Apple TV 2 that allows for playback of any movie format you have? Would that include full rips of DVDs you own in .iso or .dvdmedia format, or do you convert them to .mp4 or some other format first?

Yes...it is the XBMC program that plays back the various formats, and you need a jailbroken ATV to install. It can drill down into an .iso as well, but that is not as clean so I convert everything using Handbrake primarily...usually .mp4. That allows me to put the movie on iPads/iphones and such.

How do you like your Onkyo receiver? Would you buy it again?

It's an HT-R500. I've had it for at 8-9 years I think and never had a problem with it. If I ever look to replace it, I would have no issue buying Onkyo again.

I will try Plex at some point in the future, just haven't needed to yet. I imagine, if I ever get an Apple TV 3, then I will need to as they haven't figured out how to jail brake it yet.
