When we move troops into the green country, THEN it's for the green country. All those newer blue countries is why Putin is paranoid. It's his version of the "domino theory".

I get the feeling that Putin is realizing that taking Ukraine would be a big mistake.

Oh, I think he is realizing too but he still wants it and hasn't given up. That's why it is imperative that NATO and the US 'play' war games on the Polish/Russian border.
