When it comes right down to it everyone who ever buys a share in a listed company is a speculator. There is only one reason people choose to purchase a share in a company and that is they hope , wish , expect , calculate , anticipate or whatever word you wish to insert that is a synonym for speculate that they will be able to sell that share for a greater price some where later in time.
It is that very same speculation that drives the market both on the upswing and on the down. Sell offs are just a event created by the majority of share holders losing faith in their speculation that the share price will advance any further. Without rampant speculation which for the most part is fueled by greed there could be no stock exchanges. Who would spend money buying something that will not increase in value and that you can not eat or drink ???
Speculation has of late driven the pottawanna stocks to ridiculous prices for companies who did little more then craft a clever NR. It was great , I made some coin and I might have one more kick at the can before this whole MMJ thing implodes.
