I recognize the popularity.

I think that there was some consensus on the thread the other day that most people are not savvy about finances. Either that or not disciplined. Just another example. No wonder savings levels are so low.

I do have first dollar health coverage. It's an employee benefit I don't turn down. But if I were buying a market policy, you can bet I wouldn't. I think I have posted before that I have never gotten back in medical services what I paid in premiums, not to mention my employer's share, the larger portion. Even at 71 I would have catastrophic coverage, way more than a $5K deductible depending on costing, at least until my health started to give out, that is.
