Missouri mayor [ DEMOCRAT ] resigns over statements about Jews KansasCity.com ^ \| 4-23-14 MARIONVILLE, Mo. — The mayor of Marionville has resigned over anti-Semitic remarks he made in support of a white supremacist accused of killing three people at Jewish community sites in Overland Park. The Springfield News-Leader reports that Dan Clevenger resigned Monday night after aldermen voted 4-1 to start an impeachment process. Clevenger said he was hurt to hear residents say he was an embarrassment. His support of F. Glenn Miller Jr., 73, resulted in the resignation of an alderwoman and the city attorney. Miller, also known as Frazier Glenn Cross Jr., is accused of fatally shooting William Corporon, 69, and his 14-year-old grandson, Reat Underwood, on April 13 outside the Jewish Community Center and Terri LaManno, 53, at a nearby Jewish retirement complex. None of the three were Jewish. Clevenger, 59, is a friend of Miller’s. The mayor said last week he believes Jews have played a role in hurting the economy.
