We have about 3 ways out of this... all out nuclear war, planet killing asteroid, or plague.

Pretty early for all this merriment..

Even if we are able to avail ourselves of door 1, 2, or 3..

What are we "out" of..

The population will be reduced, to be sure

But after we escape the overpopulation problem, not sure if what is left would be worth having

I guess the message is we are already cooked, so we can stop trying to salvage anything

You left off the collapse of industrial civilization, followed shortly by the mass starvation of city-living populations, the inevitable cannibal gangs and anarchy. A greatly reduced population living in fear in a new dark age.
