Patriarch holds memorial service for Jasenovac victims

MLAKA -- Patriarch Irinej of the Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC) on Tuesday held a memorial service in Mlaka near Jasenovac, the site of Croatia's WW2 death camp.

April 22 is the anniversary of the Jasenovac breakthrough staged by the camp's prisoners. The day is also marked in Serbia as Holocaust Remembrance Day.

After liturgy services lead by Patriarch Irinej, Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro and the Littoral and Bishop Jovan of Lipljan and other clerical dignitaries, a commemoration was held to honor the Jasenovac victims.

"The church in Mlaka is built on the land of the sufferers where hundreds of thousands of martyrs were killed just because they were Serbs and Orthodox believers. That was the only thing they were guilty of, and the criminals thought they would wipe off the face of this earth all Serbs and Orthodox people. It can hardly be explained what drove people to commit such crimes," Irinej said.

”This was not done by members of another religion, this was done by (Catholic) Christians and that's what makes it terrifying. I do not want us to condemn or imprecate them, but we must not forget this,” the Serbian patriarch said, as reported by the Serb Republic (RS) public broadcaster RTRS.

Director of the Secretariat for Religions Dragan Davidovic attended the ceremony as an envoy of RS President Milorad Dodik, as did President of the Serb National Council in Croatia Milorad Pupovac.

During the second world war, the village of Mlaka was the "collection center" for Jasenovac death camp for women and children from the Kozara region. Over 30 children died daily from hunger, heat, and diseases. A number of execution sites were also located in the area.

Situated some 12 kilometers from Jasenovac, Mlaka was home to around 1,500 people before the war. The entire village population, including 250 children, was taken to camps in the spring of 1942. Today, the village is home to around 40 Serb returnees.

The prison and death camps in WW2 fascist Independent State of Croatia (NDH) were run by the entity's Ustasha regime.

Matt Damon: Bashes Natural Gas with Foreign Oil Money Matt Damon, who has starred in many films including the Bourne trilogy, is yet another green hypocrite on the team of “Years of Living Dangerously.” In an upcoming episode, Damon will discuss climate change’s supposed role in heat waves. He has a history, however, of inaccurately and hypocritically promoting environmentalism.

Damon, who is personally worth $75 million, co-wrote and starred in a widely hyped anti-fracking film called “ Promised Land” which opened on Dec. 28, 2012. The film portrayed greedy and ruthless natural gas companies, intent on extorting drilling rights from poor farmers.

But “Promised Land” which bombed at the box office, was financed in part by Image Nation, a film company completely owned and operated by the oil-rich government of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

“Promised Land” was produced “in association with” Image Media Abu Dhabi which was owned wholly by the government of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). According to the CIA World Factbook, UAE exported $166 billion of crude oil in 2013. UAE is also a member of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).

Climate alarmists are quick to attack climate skeptics with allegations of fossil fuel funding, but Damon was somehow able to remain a high-profile environmentalist in spite of the connection.

Al-Qaeda Now Controls U.S. Base in Libya Used to Train Libyan Special Forces to Fight…al-Qaeda
Written By : Jay Batman
April 2

Longtime al-Qaeda member and leader Ibrahim Ali Abu Bakr Tantoush now controls the military base the U.S. military refurbished to train Libyan Special Forces to fight al-Qaeda during 2012, according to reports by the Libyan media.

The camp, named Camp 27 due to the fact that it is 27 kilometers west of Tripoli, is now the base for Salifist extremist fighters seeking to overthrown the Libyan government. Tantoush, a longtime friend and associate of Osama bin Laden, was indicted in 2000 for his role in the 1998 African embassy bombings.

If the reports are true, a senior al-Qaeda veteran and his fighters have taken a base just 27 kilometers from Libya’s capital, which would further demonstrate how ineffectual Libya’s new government is.

In fact, according to Rand Corporation al Qaeda expert Seth Jones, Libya has become a base of sorts for jihadist groups, with terrorist training camps sprinkled liberally throughout Libyan territory. Camp 27 was previously raided by jihadist militias in June 2013, and U.S. equipment including M-4 rifles, pistols, ammunition, vehicles, and night vision equipment was seized.

Hillary Clinton Again Calls Benghazi ‘Biggest Regret’ as Secretary of State
...................................................................................................................
wall street journal ^

BOSTON – Hillary Clinton reiterated Wednesday that her darkest time as secretary of state was the deadly 2012 attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya.

Mrs. Clinton, in a speech to more than 3,000 people at a women’s leadership conference here, called the attack and loss of lives “very, very painful” and “certainly the biggest regret that I have as secretary of state.”

She noted that she had taken responsibility for security at the diplomatic outpost, where Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans died, and had pledged to do everything she could to ensure a similar tragedy won’t happen again.
