"If there were only a million people on Earth we would likely have no meaningful impact"

yes, but... we are at 7 B and rising. How do we get to 1 M in a meaningful time frame in a peaceful and non-traumatic way?

Climate change is just a symptom of overpopulation in the industrial age, where every individual's impact is magnified by their energy consumption. Our ruinous lifestyle is playing on screens around the globe, selling itself to billions who don't yet have it, but WANT it.

If you look at many of our huge, intractable problems today, you can track the cause back to overpopulation. Yet, reducing population growth has only been practiced in China, and is never brought up in the west. Just the opposite. No pol anywhere has reached the point of realizing what's needed and proposing reducing overall populations.
