I've been recently diagnosed with type-2 diabetes. I am told by my family Doctor that Agent Orange is the most likely cause since we have no family history and I'm in above average shape for my age and has not shown this to be in my medical history, till now. This disease usually starts to appear and effect people as they age due to the fact that the older you get the more likely your immune system starts to weaken, younger folk are able to fight off certain ailments but could eventually show symptoms. I contacted the VA last summer for compensation, which by law due to those that are affected, Ive yet to hear any news, other than we are still processing your claim. Its a long wait and slow process, I can only imagine what some of the Iraq/Afghan veterans go through that have serious injuries. I got a letter a few weeks back asking me for the very same documents that I sent them last summer. Its not only a shame how this Government treats those that fought for their Freedoms, ... its down-right CRIMINAL if you ask me.
