Meathead, what would be your estimate on the wholesale cost of components in a sub-zero?

Regards,

Paul

I did not say CPU $60, what I said is CPU $100, and can be as low as $80 to $90 from AMD
or Cyrx.
The price I quot here is if you order the components in big quantity from the manufacturers
(generally, those are OEM customers like CPQ), example, DRAM 16 MB is around $3 directly from manufacturers. I do not think CPQ or DELL will buy memory from retail or whole sales thinking about their quantity.

The problem here for those estimation of the analyst or people on this thread is that they always use the retail or wholesale price to count the cost for big OEMs like CPQ and DELL.
That stupid. You may fly to Taiwan to check with those manufacturers, then you will know
what I am talking and agree. Remember, CPQ is no fool. No body will do business to lose
money !!!!!!!!!!
