Hi Arnie:

Sorry I have been away so long, I will be reading up on post this evening and will give some tech info and explanations once I sort out what the questions are. Very busy at work right now.

Robert - Former Motorola two-way tech., (10 yrs exp.)

PS: We have been renovating a shopping center, everybody on the project uses NEXTEL, no complaints, they love the service.

Arnie,

Keep reading. Concentrate on the meaning of "time slot". Do a search on iDEN. 25Khz is one way.

Don't take wooden nickels from JPM. Check if they did any underwriting for NXTL. Check their basic assumptions. The laws of physics apply to everyone.

Of course NXTL's network can be build with fewer cell sites - simply because operates on lower frequences. The flip side of this coin is lower bandwidth/more busy signals, pricier and heavier handsets, shorter battery life. You get what you pay for, except that you'd have to pay more with Nextel. DISADVANTAGE NEXTEL.

7,000sqm is the local area size is the cell size. How do I know?
The US territory is roughly 4,000,000sqm, divided by 6,000 cell sites equals to 7,000sqm/cell site.

7,000sqm translates into a 85 by 85 mile area... Do you really think 3,000 lines (assuming no "direct connect") would be sufficient to serve the needs of say the NYC metro area? Note that you can't add cell towers arbitrarily lest their transmitters would interfere with each other. DISADVANTAGE NEXTEL.

Arnie: Looks like there are only a few of us left. We're left behind to clean up and do the floors.

The market action this week really tests a person's resolve. Guess I've been hanging around here to long. I'm convinced that the company is solid, the product is good, there is no relationship to Asia, except Motorola, and Motorola hasn't been hit that hard. So, why the sudden loss of interest? The only redeeming thought is that several points can be gained back in a week.

Perhaps someone out there has the research ability and can analyze the configuration of sales, short sales?, or insider sales? I can't do it, I'm frozen in disbelief.

Back to Islands tonight, but somehow I really don't feel hungry, do you?

Regards

On an unscheduled weight loss diet, Al
