I think adults aren't going to be victimized if they can't buy cannabis gummy bears or lollipops. But if this is an important issue for you then this is a moral issue for both of us, I guessFirst off, it's not necessary for the stores to let in kids and sell them candy directly ... someone of legal age will go in and buy it and then resell it. As happens now with things kids can't buy. Yes, that happens with alcohol too. Should we ban it? Or maybe only certain flavors Nah, we can't do that, but we can learn from our experience and realize kids are going to get products that are supposed to be only for adults .... why make it more tempting? Or in places where pot is illegal the kids can just by it from some street dealer. Now, now, all the street dealers will be out of business now that it's legal. The smart thing is to stop selling to youths after a first offense until the store is sold to a cousin or brother-in-law or something. Then it becomes a new business with a new record. I don't think that is a huge problem. But if you do, and you think its one that needs a big crackdown, you could support more severe penalties for first offenses. Now I'm calling for a big crackdown on stores selling booze to underage kids. OK, I could live with that in theory. But it would be hard to accomplish. The owner will always say it was the employee violating their policy and how do you keep someone from re-opening with another family member's name? The idea that all of the retailers are going to be moral agents just doesn't describe reality. They don't have to be, its mostly not in their self interest to try to sell to kids. Not directly and if they do, not to get caught. But it IS in their self interest to get kids using their product. They're the customers of the future.
