Seems to me that the investors are aiming to take Apple stock to 700 before the split. Wonder if Icahn would consider it a good time to sell or would he wait for the announcement of AAPL's inclusion in the Dow?

Any guesses of who would get bumped out from the Dow if they decided to include AAPL?

Apple Hits 52-Week High

Shares of Apple Inc. ( NASDAQ: AAPL) posted an all-time high of $705.07 in September 2012, shortly
after the launch of the iPhone 5. Since then the stock has dropped below $400 a share a couple of times
and closed last Friday at $571.57. Just before noon on Monday, shares posted a new 52-week high just
shy of $593 a share.

Of course one should reduce the old high of $705.07 by dividends paid since then

C'mon now, that's not very fair nor accurate. I did have a short (puts) position when you wrote, but it was sunk by the earnings. I now have a much more substantial one, taken in the 590s. I would buy Apple at much higher prices than you state, even with the current situation. And I'd buy even above today's price if they took an approach I outlined a week or so ago.

As for being on the board or influencing share price... well, thanks for the vote of confidence. Had no idea I had that kind of clout!
