But Ten, I don't see how that is in any way analogous to the case where drug enforcement agents break down the door of an INNOCENT person's home (even if in error) and shoot him dead.

If law enforcement can reasonably judge that a person's life is in danger and, and they can kill the perpetrator and end the threat, or if they judge it is best thing to do for the victims, then one can see it.

I really don't see how you view these as similar circumstances.

Pedestrians and motorists are killed in crashes when the police are chasing criminals. We need to stop police from pursuing criminals.
