"Working? Probably not the term I'd use if I was going to evaluate the system. I would say its beneficial if it contained government costs, reduced or at least didn't increase government control, increased or at least didn't reduce people's options" Those are all admirable goals and I for one think that they are important and ones we should strive for in our American health care system. However, (as you well know), none of them were primary goals of this round of healthcare reform. The ACA's primary goal was EXPANSION of the ranks of folks covered by health care insurance. Other way of saying the same thing is: SHRINKING of the ranks of uninsured.
