-- Shorts are toast. -- VVUS held above $12. Despite being hit viciously by short sellers and the most innane press release coming out of Italy. -- Over 10 mill shares shorted vs. 31 mill or so outstanding? And mngmt has a 2 million share buyback underway. As of last night, only 400k shares confirmed have been bought back. They'll give new numbers on 1/18/98. What's even better, is that mngmt said they can always go beyond the 2 mill share buyback. -- Where in the world are the shorts going to get the shares to cover? Out.
