This is a really good point.

In the case of most doctors -- but particularly primary care -- it is a question of who are you going to cut -- BCBS patients or Medicaids. And that is a no brainer.

I was recently looking for a new doctor and when I called and asked, "Is he taking new patients?" the first question I got was, "You're not on Medicaid or anything, right?" This was a doctor I used to do work for back in the 90s, and at the time they were buried in Medicaid patients.
