OT: The best way to value amzn is by a multiple of revenues, imho.

Why? There is an old joke that goes something like "Amazon looses a little on each sale, but makes up for it on volume."

I don't understand picking a metric where there might be a plausible explanation for a company's stock price, and ignoring all of the usual ones that show the company to be doing very, very poorly. It smacks of the the dot com bubble.

My sense is that Amazon is/was riding the bigger fool maxim. There is always a bigger fool willing to pay more for the stock because he thinks he can find a bigger fool than he, to dump the higher priced stock on. I expect that Amazon has just seen the beginning of it's decline. At one point, Microsoft was the same way.
