Less,
What legal standard are they basing their comments and actions on?
Theoretically, the NBA is a private organization. They can decide for themselves who to include and who to kick out.

However, I'm sure Sterling Don and his team of lawyers will come up with legal arguments against getting kicked out in such a fashion. Wrongful termination, lack of due process, entrapment based on an illegally-obtained recording, etc.

As for how this impacts society going forward, yeah I agree that we live in an age where everyone is hypersensitive, and that you can lose your job if you say something that is even remotely interpreted the wrong way.

This is indeed political correctness run amok, and I don't see this situation improving any. It will further strain race relations, give the haters even more ways to get a rise out of people, and effectively stifle free speech. All without having to pull the trigger.
