It is a good point; the mortgage interest deduction is effectively passed through to renters in the form of reduced rents, which the market can provide when there are tax deductions for the landlords.

Sure they do. Not directly but the mortgage interest deduction is available for rental properties.


The renters don't get the break, the business, ie the landlord does....
