We should not engage in capital punishment as it is barbaric. And eventually enough people will see that just like they eventually saw slavery was wrong, sexism was wrong, segregation was wrong, gay bashing is wrong. What is depressing is that almost all the other countries are ahead of us which makes us the most primitive society in the western world. We should be ashamed of ourselves. Another way to see how primitive we are, or maybe just crazy, is how many people we put in jail and how many murders we have. But from a practical point of view we cannot accept killing one innocent person for every 24 guilty. Don't you agree with that? It is pretty simple. And surly you don't think we should execute the mentally retarded or psychotic person?
