Alec, I hope your optimism turns out to be well placed. Their hubs, I believe, are state of the art as is the case with Spectrum, their net management software. DEC, to me, has always been overpriced and well behind the curve for peripheral products. It's quite conceivable that 'paying a song' for DEC's networking business will not turn out to be a good deal. Networkers are getting creamed along with the rest of high tech. Even CSCO finally succumbed today. Last time I looked, the leading networkers were selling at 1/3 of their 52 week highs. Will the currency crisis in SEA cause the population to lose all desire for a better life? I doubt it. High tech growth may very well slow while we get over this "bump" but I believe it will resume sooner than the street thinks. That may not be within the next 2 or 3 quarters. JMHO, Ian
