Would you advocate, as Alito suggested could be done, that everyone be required to purchase a burial policy, since a person whose estate can't afford to bury him/her is a burden to the rest of the community? No, too nickel and dime. They'll pay enough taxes in their lifetime to pay the gravediggers. Would you advocate that I be excused from about 1/2 my property taxes because I didn't have kids? I've been forced to pay that for 40+ years, easily $100k+ and I'll never send a kid to public school.
