YouTube should work, it will use HTML 5 to play the videos. But if you want a good experience with your computer, better have Flash installed.

Maybe uninstall it, reboot the computer, then go reinstall it,

I don't think I'm going to bother reinstalling Flash. I ran the two applications yesterday, and uninstalled unwanted software. The only issue now is "Windows Installer" pops up occasionally, and I'm working on that. (any suggestions are welcome.)

What a good learning experience, and I knew this could happen to me someday, but like I said, I was under pressure and not paying close enough attention. A good lesson to take my time and read, read and reject.
