>> You cannot take a city and just pin it on the failure of the dems philosophy.

You damned well can. Detroit was run, into the ground, by Democrats who believed the gravy train would never end. That you could dump cost after cost into local government without any downside. This is precisely what is happening to the US right now.

>> If you want to do that though then tell me why San Francisco and silicon valley, Portland and seattle all bastions of liberalism are so rich and prosperous?

These places, like Detroit of 50 years ago, are riding high on a technology boom. They will face the same bitter consequences 50 years from now. They are losing their business now to Texas, and that transition will continue. And Texas will become a liberal bastion as the money flows.

>> And why is the south the poorest part of the country? That is a larger population and does have to do with the Republican philosophy.

How do you measure "poor"? Are you counting the per-capita debt? Because by that metric, CA, NY, CT, IL are all dirt poor.

>> Because the dems follow science and modern thinking

LOL. Right. The "science" of huge indebtedness and commitments you can't begin to keep.

You may be great scientists but you have a serious problem doing arithmetic.

Koan,
If you want to do that though then tell me why San Francisco and silicon valley, Portland and seattle all bastions of liberalism are so rich and prosperous?
Because liberalism takes from the poor and gives to the wealthy.

Detroit lost out, San Francisco won.

Meanwhile, the middle class is disappearing from these great liberal bastions.

This is the greatest contradiction of liberalism, that it is MOST responsible for the growing divide between rich and poor.

Silicon Valley? How soon do you replace Mayor Chuck Reed (a republican) and correct the situation?

Seattle? The past headquarters of Boeing? And you had to get a federal mob to interfere with Boeing building a new factory in the Carolinas. Explain that one koan....

Plenty of articles on Portland and SanFrancisco going to shit.....

Try some facts instead of bullshit:

discoverthenetworks.org

Democrats are turning California into Detroit.

How many city bankruptcies are taking place under democrat leadership?

The list of facts go on and on and on.......

Detroit was the richest city in the world in the 1950s and the dems destroyed it with their marxist redistribution.

the south is poor because they have 40% black populations, like harlem is poor, south phillie, southeast DC etc
