Hah, I just experienced this yesterday. I have a laser black and white, so it was able to print ten pages before I realized it was printing the whole document instead of my selection.

What printer do you have? Mine is an Epson and I simply hit cancel on the printer, works great!

I've actually got to turn off the printer power to stop a print job. Major PITA. I agree...we should be way beyond this technologically.

Using an Epson WF3520 I have the option of getting a complete preview of the pending print job and determine if I want to print what I see in the preview.. However, even at that I sometimes goof or go too fast and realize I started a print job I really don't want. I keep a shortcut to my printer queue on the desktop to be able to immediately cancel. At that, I am sometimes to late and waste a page with a few lines, but better than printing an entire unwanted doc.
