Interesting company. I worked for a dot com company that was the exact opposite. It was all data. They were turning down venture caps. Giant brokerages were itching to use their software. They spent 2 years developing their system. When they released it it was all numbers. No visualization at all. Traders at the brokerage houses couldn't make head nor tails of the numbers. Released their software 2 weeks before the dot com crash, a month later they were out of business. I was the frustrated designer at that company who warned them to user test the software... Tableau is almost all interface and no data. Beautiful execution from what I can see. All usability. But with a 3 billion market cap and a P/E of 813 they are definitely no secret. I wonder how they could expand enough to merit that kind of size with a reasonable market cap.
