What happens if they make earnings?!

Stranger things could happen, but yes, there is risk here in this market with any unknown. Everybody doesn't miss earnings, if the stock drops as your doom and gloom forecast suggests ATML is no longer the growth stock that it has been and all the puts and calls won't be worth as much as a plan old SHORT. However, this has been a tough week for all in the tech, Monday seems like another world now, and maybe, just maybe, next Monday will be the same as last Monday.
Remember this stock was 37 not that long ago, I don't believe the company is worth 3/4 less in a few short months. Doom and gloom doesn't help, what if we sell and it goes to 24!?

Frank,

You say that insiders are selling at the low-20 level? Hmmm,
the report I have in front of me, dated 02-Dec-97, shows that
the last time someone sold in the low 20s was Kris Chellam, on
04-24-97. After he sold, the stock went to 39.

You also state that Atmel doesn't preannounce until 1-2 weeks before
the earnings date. Please point out the date when they preannounced
1-2 weeks in advance.

Furthermore, you say you expect the stock to drop to 10-15, which
means you believe that it deserves a P/E of under 10. Interesting...
