It seems to me that if Jobs does not want the CEO position, as he has stated, then he needs to make room for someone who does. And if this means stepping down from the board, then he should do so and not hold back Apple.

It seems to me that he is trying to have HIS cake and eat it to. I just hope he doesn't eat up Apple in the process.

Don't worry, Ed. I have a feeling we'll get wet enough during MWSF.

If you think about it, we'd probably be right where we are now regardless of whether Jobs was at the helm. There may have been a jump at the announcement of an outside CEO, but then the same old issues would've come home to roost after the announcement hoopla settled. All in all, I'd rather have Jobs around...at least I have a pretty good grasp of his motivations (or so I think, muhahahaha).
