Thank you Jim. That person recognizes the realities of the world and the many variables of the issue. I personally do not think there is a way to use coal economically that does not generate CO2 per the relationship of C + O2 = CO2. The one exception would be if the CO2 could be used in enhanced oil recovery where the captured CO2 would have an economic value to pay for the cost of its capture - and hence make it economical.
