Listen, trying to be gentle with you, but you've been bragging on how you think local taxes are ok. Now suddenly you change the game. It's all about local taxes, the guys you can "pick up the phone and talk to so you don't mind".

No, I haven't changed the game. I think it is pretty apparent that when talking about tax burden one has to consider the overall burden, yet when one is discussing which tax he'd rather pay given a choice, there may be a preference. You are conflating two entirely different topics.

My good old USA. Love this country. You guys hate it. Makes me sick.

You guys are not the Republicans I grew up with. They loved their communities and the country, would do anything to make them better for their kids.

No, I'm not a Republican. Or a Democrat.

But that's beside the point. Tell me, when the chairman of CBO goes before Congress and says, "These deficits are 'unsustainable' because of Social Security, Medicare, and Obamacare subsidies," tell me how you expect future generations to deal with that problem?

That is a pretty straightforward question that you have essentially dodged throughout the conversation. I believe you are a smart guy. I would like to hear an honest response to it.

It's all about YOU, what you can get, not contribute. Suck it for all it's worth in your lifetime.

I think you have that confused.

Not wanting to contribute to building infrastructure is one thing. Not wanting to contribute in taxes monies that will be redistributed to the people who are "suck(ing) it for all it's worth" is something else again. They are two different sets of people, those who are doing the sucking and those who don't want to put up the funds for those who are. Those doing the sucking are the ones who want to raise taxes, thus their take. You are conflating the two and incorrectly attributing.

My good old USA. Love this country. You guys hate it. Makes me sick.

It is both inapt and mean spirited to attribute ill intent to those who have different ideas on how to be successful. If you favor playing zone defense and other fans favor man-to-man, for example, you can't say that they hate the team. They just disagree on how to make their beloved team successful.

You guys are not the Republicans I grew up with

Speaking of incorrectly attributing, I'm pretty sure i-node is not a Republican.
