Korea, as we all know, has lived over 45 years, well protected by the United States. There are 45,000 American troops acting as trip wire along the DMZ. They were assisted by the United States to re-build their country and yet for nearly 40 years they were ruled by very corrupt military governments that one after another stole the cuntries wealth. Then with the end of the cold-war, we have a series of ex-generals turned politicians. Again, the kept stealing, and off-course once getting caught. appologizing to the public! If your a CNN watchers, you have seen that over and over. Now the 8th largest world economy is very close to melt down! Dongush Securities Ltd. the countries leading brokerages stoped operation contributing to 7% farther fall in the countries stock market. The bench mark Composite index fell 26.6 pints to 350.68. They asked IMF for 30 billion dollar loan, and then they said they needed 60 billins!! Now they say they need 100 billion to pay their short term loans by the end of 1997plus further 85 billion furhter up next year! Since the US and European community refused to give them the additional money their have been demonstartion in Pagoda Park, Seoul, where mobs burned the US falgs and called United States imperialists! (this is the gratitude for 45 years of protection US gave them agaisnt their Red brothers in North. Korea!!) There is only one way for Korea out of this crisis. For the country to default and start all over again, or else abide by the diciplin the IMF has prsecibed which apparently, as unruly and un-diciplined spild children, they refuse.
