I believe Henry will tell you that not all gaps need to be filled. One still exists around 7 for AAPL, do you expect that one will be filled too?

That said, AAPL could very well try fill the recent one, especially if the Beats deal goes through and is not well-received by the market. I realize that's mixing FA and TA, but it could push AAPL back down.

BTW, which TA book are you referencing when you talk about these gaps? I'd like to read it.

I guess my questions to the theory on filling the gap (ie Yelp) are why did the price jump up (gap) and why is the price of the stock now going down to "fill the gap"? I believe the causes are rooted in the company's fundamentals and initial over exuberance by investors that caused the gap.

In Apple's case, I believe their fundamentals are excellent and the stock price isn't by any means overpriced when compared to other companies' fundamentals. If the price of Apple's stock goes down, I don't believe it has anything to do with filling the gap.

One man's opinion:)

I didn't buy Yelp at 100 but I'll definitely buy it if it goes anywhere near 1, providing the rest of the market is collapsing.
