what browser? I have Chrome slowdowns occasionally, especially on SI. All else checks out ok just as in your case.

Defrag and clear your cache. Also, you may want to try "Whats Running" to see if you have any resource hogs. running.

and only use it about and hour or so each morning


I would wait for the weekend and leave it on all day. New updates waiting to load and things like file indexing can use up lots of resources, and might even hold up the machine temporarily.

Today is the second Tuesday of the month. That is day that Microsoft updates become available. If you have your computer setup to automatically download and install updates without notifying you, then that would be a possible cause of your unexpected slowdown.
