The St. Louis Rams have painted themselves into a corner and the harm could spread to every other team they play. Michael Sam is too small and too slow for the NFL. The Rams can't play him aggressively or risk him getting clobbered. Other NFLers are either waiting for a chance at payback for politicizing the game or are worried if they hit him too hard, they could be accused of some anti-homo crime. If St. Louis cuts him, they can expect White House scrutiny or worse. Sam brings more issues and distractions than any player in recent history..
