Shorting what market? foreign stocks, gold, most tech stocks and smallcaps are all down 20-50% or more. What bull? The indexes are the last to go, they are like religious icons. meanwhile microcaps are back at book value.
All I have is RYURX bought at 980, cash, and a boatload of BEARX up 10-15%. and some in a microcap fund that shorts stocks in bear markets. It's a sell-and-hold portfolio. The guys that run wall street can cycle the panic through different sectors and run the market indexes in this trading channel for the next ten years, I for one am not going to bother shorting spy again.

Hi Vi,

Re: Bull channels. What do you think about the SOX, and any other technical index. My analysis shows these indexs to be in bear channels. Other interesting bear channels..paper, lumber, aluminum, metals, grains. Lots of bear markets out there.

Do you have any sectors that you think will make newer highs in 1998. At least 12%. The only one I can find that is a good canidate is the 30 year bond. I am hunting for the answer to this question.

Re: Currencies. Why do you think AG is pumping $'s into the economy?

Joan
