So you know the cost of a power supply because a power
mosfet costs .50 or a regulator cost $2? Last time I
checked, there were many more parts to consider here.
The cost/quality/capability options for designing
anything are virtually unlimited. Again... WAG.

Post a Bill of materials for two 150w power supplies designed
and manufactured by two different companies. Include
line item component costs in qtys of 1000, then you'll
understand why costs can vary widely.

Sub-zero's are low margin. They are selling well into
initial demand. Compaq is making a profit, retail outlets
are'nt. Why is this hard to understand? As Jim pointed
out, the margins are in the report numbers... do the math.
It's much easier than trying to cost a PC.
