Where we disagree is not on these very simple facts, but on details like "how much" and "for how long in the future" and "with what effect" and, to some extent, "what happened in the distant past", but most importantly, on "what should the politicians do now".

We don't necessarily disagree. My position on global warming has always been the same. There is a possibility that GW is a false theory; that we are not experiencing GW. I think 5-10% of scientists agree with that premise.

However, we do know that burning fossil fuels can lead to the degradation of the environment and hurt humans. So then, even though we are not 100% sure that GW is upon us, we do know that humans will benefit if we reduce the burning of fossil fuels. So why not do it for that reason?
