[Tungsten] Outback Metals outlines gold-tin-tungsten potential at Yeuralba

Outback Metals (ASX: OUM) has completed a review of historic data over its Yeuralba gold-tin-tungsten project in the Northern Territory.

Soil samples exhibited gold assay results up to 2.44g/t, with tin values to 2.64%. Tungsten has been identified in rock chips at levels of 3.9%.

The review also noted near surface drilling results of 9 metres at 0.85% tungsten from 6 metres, and 7 metres at 0.05% tungsten and 1.31g/t gold from 16 metres, including 2 metres at 2.54g/t gold.

The project is well serviced by existing infrastructure, with access by well maintained all-weather roads from the Stuart Highway.

Previous exploration by Denehurst and others in the Maranboy-Yeuralba area also identified diamonds, and copper.

Notably, the Denehurst exploration only covered a small portion of the total Yeuralba Mineral Field, where Outback controls significant acreage.

And at the time of the Denehurst report, tin, tungsten, and gold were trading at much lower prices than today.

In addition, Outback's nearby Bynoe exploration project near Darwin has shown elevated values of tantalum occurring in pegmatites.

Tantalum has an extremely high melting point of over 3,000° C , is virtually immune to corrosion and is superconductive for electricity.

These unique qualities make it ideal for use in electronic capacitors, surgical equipment and implants, chemical processing equipment, vacuum furnaces, nuclear reactors, aircraft parts and cutting tools.

Outback remains in discussions with potential funding or joint venture partners that are interested in advancing the company's mineral assets.

Outback is capitalised at a very modest $700,000, and retains over half that in cash.
