Excerpt for CNN article:"Let me tell you that Japan will not be next," Camdessus told public television's "Newshour with Jim Lehrer." "Japan is a rescuer in this business. Japan will not need to be rescued."

Kumar,

At the risk of sounding bearish, Japan may be forced to sell some of the U.S. Treasuries it holds to take care of its own problems. If that is indeed the case, it won't be good news for anyone since interest rates will head skyward. Japan currently holds 9% of our Treasuries. One-tenth of the National Debt! To a large extent, we are at their mercy. All we can do is hope for the best and keep on covering our margin calls :-(((

Regards,

Brian
