I believe it's probably true and I also suspect the research will eventually come up with medications that could kill the cancer in people, it would certainly be better than the torture of chemo therapy that patients now suffer in huge number... it all reminds me of how primitive shock therapy was the common treatment for schizophrenia not too long ago before they came up with far more sophisticated meds to treat the same problem...
