Thanks,

According to Leo I apparently had already turned off DEP except for essential Microsoft programs.

After playing around I have discovered that the problem appears to be DEP and Internet Explorer interfering with Adobe reader pdf files I am trying to access online. I have been having a lot of problems downloading the free Adobe Reader on my Vista and recently updated Windows 7 desktops. For some reason the laptop still downloads the adobe pdfs after giving a error message it cannot use adobe. If I click on that message it goes ahead and downloads the pdf file anyways.

Perhaps I have been caught in the crossfire of two warring software companies?

Anybody know of a program that can read pdf files that Microsoft allows?
