1. Is there anything that stands out to you as being important?

Since I want to know if my system has a problem, I'd suggest System File Checker and ChkDsk to determine if Windows has a file problem. I'd run Device Manager to detect hardware problems, and I'd run CCleaner to eliminate the junk that builds up over time.

2. What do you recommend to make an image of the system?

Acronis does a good a job of making an image. If you have a Western Digital, Seagate, or MaxStore drive in your system, you can get a FREE copy of Acronis True Image from the drive manufacturers.

Hint: I prefer to run these programs from a CD. Even if you don't, make the CD anyway: it could be a sanity saver some day.

3. When I run CCleaner, I uncheck some things.

So do I

Cheers, PW.
