Brian, whether short covering is good or bad is a matter of opinion. On
the one hand, if you were counting on a huge short squeeze driving the
price way up, it is bad. On the other hand, if even the shorts are
starting to cover some of their position (and I emphasize some, not
all), then Iomega might be approaching something that even they consider
to be a reasonable price. While I have heard, like you, that they
consider the proper price to be around $6, I have been told that, given
the present environment, holding out for something below $12-$15 on the
downside might be fraught with too much. Unlke some longs, short sellers
do want a risk premium for bearing risk, and in the case of Iomega there
is a lot of risk on both sides.<<<<<<<<<<

I think it is apparent that shorts have already been covering like
crazy. Who else do you think is buying in 10's of thousands shares as
this thing cascades out of control? As the stock has been ticking down,
there have been 10's of thousands of shares bid at the new bid. Those
are shorts who are covering. Institutions that are accumulating do not
operate that way to the best of my knowledge, albeit woefully limited in
comparison to the expert around here. You bulls should be thanking God
for the shorts (covering)
